Got questions? We have answers. :)
How do I RSVP?
On the RSVP page, enter the full name of anyone in your party.
I got a Save the Date but no invitation. What gives?
If it’s after March 18th and you have not received your invitation, it probably got lost or delayed in the mail. We’re sorry that happened! Rest assured you are still invited, and will be able to RSVP on this site. If you have any questions, please reach out to us.
What if I can only attend for part of the weekend?
We would still love for you to come for the events you are able to attend! You can RSVP separately to each event.
What will the weather be like?
Based on historical data, we can say with some confidence that the daytime temperature will be between 30 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit at many times during the weekend. It may be sunny, but it could be cloudy instead. Rain is possible.
Fahrenheit is silly. What’s that in Celsius?
It’s between -1.111 (repeating of course) and 26.667 degrees.
How about Kelvin?
272.04–299.82 K.
And Rankine?
Alright nerd, we get it - that’s 489.67–539.67 R.
Okay, but seriously???
Seriously, weather at this time of year can vary a lot, so we recommend checking the area forecast beforehand and packing some layers. It will likely cool down significantly at night (though that’s what campfires are for!) May 30th is at the tail end of mud season in VT, and our ceremony will be outside (weather permitting), so we do recommend flats, wedges, or block heels. TBD whether it will be warm enough to swim, but Jess and Quentin are optimistically packing their bathing suits.
What does cocktail attire mean?
We considered linking to a site that gives examples, but they all seem very strict about things like hem length, and we’re not the fashion police. If you google “cocktail dress code” you can get an idea - suits, dresses, jumpsuits, and dressy separates are all good. Jeans are too casual; a tux or ballgown is a bit much.
How should I communicate my accessibility needs?
If you have accessibility needs, you can contact us directly at jess@jessandquentin.com or quentin@jessandquentin.com, or talk to the staff at Farm Road Estate when you book your room.
What should I consider bringing that I might not normally bring to a wedding?
musical instruments for the campfire
bathing suit
pool toys and floats
board games, lawn games, or puzzles
fishing gear—we don’t fish, but there is a fishing pond if you do!
What should I know if I’m bringing kids under 18?
SAFETY: The most important thing to know is that the property has an outdoor pool, a fishing pond, and a swimming pond. There are no lifeguards and the ponds are not fenced; all wedding guests have full and easy access to the water.
Liability: We know you know, but we still have to say it - you are solely responsible for any damages that you or your party, including children, cause to the property, however accidental. The Inn is historic, so please be careful.
Food: We’re happy to serve either one of the regular adult meals or a kids meal, and you can select that when you RSVP. You’ll also be able to include any dietary restrictions.
Ceremony: During the wedding ceremony and any speeches, we kindly ask that you step away with your child if needed to avoid disruption of the event.
What’s the deal with parking?
Farm Road Estate has free on-site parking.
Is there anywhere on the property I can smoke?
There is absolutely no smoking allowed indoors anywhere on the property, including inn rooms and residences. Smoking is allowed only in the parking lots, and we ask that you be conscious of any others near you.
What is there to do in the area?
Farm Road Estate itself has a small swimming pond with canoes and a raft, a stocked fishing pond, an outdoor (somewhat) heated pool, and a few short hiking trails of varying difficulty.
Hiking and Disc Golf - The Horace Hill Recreation Area is just down the road. It has several much longer hiking trails and an 18 hole disc golf course.
Spa - Naturspa is a short drive away at the Mount Snow Grand Summit Resort Hotel. Quentin and I can recommend their massages! Booking spa services also grants access to the hotel gym, steam room, and heated outdoor pool and hot tubs.
Shops/antiquing - Both the nearby town of Wilmington (10 min drive), and the somewhat less nearby towns of Brattleboro, VT (40 min drive) and Manchester, VT (50 min drive) have cute bookstores and shops.
How did you meet?
We met Saturday, October 1st, 2022 in Somerville, at Chris and Jess Shmidt’s housewarming party. We talked about the MBTA, the video game Subnautica, and the importance of regularly replacing fire alarm batteries. We also ended up singing “Charlie on the MTA.”
How did you get engaged?
We got engaged on January 18, 2025, in the 6th floor elevator lobby of MIT Building 36, during the annual Mystery Hunt puzzle competition. Our team, Death and Mayhem, was running the hunt that year, and it was the one time Jess was certain a proposal would not be happening.
So who’s better at puzzles?
Nice try. In the interest of marital harmony, the canonical answer is that Jess and Quentin are equally good at puzzles.
Who is more competitive?
That would be Jess.
You guys are really cute.
This isn’t a question, but thank you so much for saying so!
Did you have fun making this FAQ?
We really did.
